A genuine return to form in multiplayer, dragged down by a campaign nobody asked to remember.

Battlefield 6 is what an apology looks like at AAA scale. After 2042's specialist debacle, the restored four-class system, tighter 64-player focus, and vastly improved destruction, walls peeling in layers rather than vanishing in scripted chunks, land as deliberate course corrections, and they work. The gunplay is weighty, the movement's drag-and-vault flow feels earned rather than floaty, and map design mostly resists the open-field emptiness that plagued recent entries.

Coordinating DICE, Criterion, Motive, and Ripple Effect into one coherent shooter is why difficulty-to-make sits at A. The campaign is the anchor pulling the grade down: Dagger 13 versus the Pax Armata private army is a competent-looking string of setpieces with dialogue and stakes that evaporate on contact, a C effort in a series that once shipped Bad Company. Add launch-window server pain and a slow Season 1 drip, and the honest read is a very good B with an A ceiling it has not yet reached.
