The most beautiful city the series ever built, launched a year before it actually worked.

Unity's Paris is still the best city Assassin's Creed has ever built: a one-to-one-feeling Revolutionary capital with thousand-strong crowds, interiors behind a startling share of its windows, and Notre-Dame rendered with a fidelity that later acquired real-world poignancy. The rebuilt parkour, with its deliberate descent controls, remains the series' most fluid, and the black-box assassination missions, multiple ingress routes, opportunities to poison, lure, and improvise, became the blueprint the Hitman comparison always demanded.
So why B? Because the game shipped broken, faces glitching into horror shows and frame rates cratering under all that crowd tech, and because Arno and Elise's romance-against-the-Revolution plot wastes the setting on a story with nothing to say about it. Patched into stability, Unity plays today like a preview of a direction the series abandoned. The craft earns the A grades; the launch and the script cap the whole.
