The system is the spine. Cursed techniques carry binding vows, domain expansions announce their guaranteed-hit condition out loud, and the strongest character is explicitly limited by information he does not have, so fights turn on what someone knows rather than how loudly they shout. That discipline lets MAPPA build sequences that stay readable at extraordinary speed, and the Gojo and Jogo exchange, the Itadori and Todo tag fight, and the whole of Shibuya show a studio at full stretch, with hand-drawn smoke, lateral camera moves, and impact frames held long enough to register.

Shibuya is where the series earns its grade, because it kills people who mattered and refuses to walk any of it back. Sukuna is frightening precisely because he is bored. The weaknesses are real: the cast expands faster than it develops, exposition arrives in blocks, and Akutami's habit of introducing a rule mid-fight strains the system he built. Hiroaki Tsutsumi's score and a near-perfect run of opening sequences hold the tone together.
